Ugh, he looks way to feminine. He's a tom people. Also, why in the heck does he have red under his eye?! And hair... NO, JUST NO. And he has a purple collar, and a NORMAL white paw. Not no fancy stripey paw.

Woah there friend, not everything has to be 100% book accurate. Where's the creativity in always doing the exact same design? It's called artistic license. When you look at this picture, can you tell that it's Scourge? If yes, good.

About the collar: First of all, keep in mind that the mangas are a really bad source for accurate character designs. For example, Brightheart isn't missing half of her face, some tabbies don't even have any stripes, etc. Keep in mind that the color of his collar was never mentioned in the original series. The purple collar is only the interpretation of the artist who was hired to illustrate the manga. Here are some more official artwork of Scourge:

Now, for the paw... Yes, it said a white paw. But it never said "He has an absolutely normal paw, don't ever draw it with a stripe on top." Yes, in this picture he has a stripey paw, but is his paw still white? Yup.

The red stripe under his eye makes him look more villainous. That's what he is, anyway.

Finally, he was never intended to be a super macho and masculine character like Tigerstar. He's the size of an apprentice and scrawny due to famime, remember?

Dude, don't ignore the effort the artist has put on this piece just because this design isn't your cup of tea. Why don't you leave a good and helpful critique on this instead of leave rude and inconsiderate comments?

Sorry, I rant too much. I do appreciate the effort she put into this piece..

Despite leaving the Warriors fandom long ago, I agree with you fully! Too many fans are very pretentious, especially when it comes to the designs of the characters. I really appreciate your comment and I hope that other people do as well because the "design wars" occur too much, and it's unfortunately not even the only mishap within this fandom.

Also thank you very much for linking those covers; it's very interesting to see the designs in different countries! I really like the collar on the Chinese version.

You agree?
axalona Featured By Owner Jul 11, 2014  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Yep. Most of designs for Scourge are lame, unnatural and ripped off of other artists.
LilyUnicorn Featured By Owner Jul 12, 2014  Hobbyist Artist
Yes, that is true. I mean, really? Who does this to a CAT. It's a cat, not some emo, psychopath human! Ugh, fans annoy me so.

IKR? Art and animations that portray him like this is the reason why scourgefags appeared.
